GENERAL INFORMATION

Tunceli University  Vocational School started its activities in the framework of  Fırat University in the 1983-1984 academic year and graduated its first students in Elazığ in 1985.It was relocated in Tunceli in the 1987-1988 academic year.Later,Tunceli University,which consisted of 3 faculties,1 vocational school and 2 institutes,was established based on the Act 5765 issued in 22.05.2008.Our goal is to train technical personel our country needs as individuals who have been educated in accordance with Atatürk’s principles and believe in Atatürk’s Revolutions wholeheartedly and are aware of their duties and responsibilities towards Turkish Republic.We aim to take Turkish culture,civilization and history to our people by means of scientific researches and cultural activities.

Turkish Grand National Assembly  (TBMM) passed the Act authorizing the establishment of  Tunceli University.

The Act 5765 on the establishment of Tunceli University,which consists of 3 faculties,1 Vocational School and 2 institutes,was passed in the TBMM on 22.05.2008.

A new university by the name of Tunceli University was established in Tunceli based on the first article of the Act 5765 and the additional article 102 of Higher Education Act issued on 28.03.1983. The University was allocated 1660 staff.

A new university by the name of Tunceli University was established in Tunceli.

This university consists of 

a)      the Faculties of Engineering, Fisheries and The Faculty of Economics, which formerly belonged to Fırat University and later renamed and reassigned to Tunceli University

b)      Tunceli Vocational School, which  formerly belonged to Fırat University and later renamed and reassigned to Tunceli University

c)      Social Sciences Institute and Positive Sciences Institute, which have newly been founded in the framework of Tunceli University Rectorate

Premises

Tunceli University has got a one-storey administrative building and a three-story building, where classrooms are found. The University boasts a mini football pitch, a basketball court and a volleyball court. Students can play table tennis and chess and watch TV.They can chat with their friends and relax in the university cafeteria.
