The proposal about the inception of Alevism Practice and Research Center affiliated to Tunceli University Rectorate was discussed in the Executive Board Meeting of Higher Education on 08.07.2009 and as per the amended article 7/d-2 of the law no:2547( amended by the law no: 2880), the inception was approved.

The aim of the center is to determine the position of Alevism in  history of thought  and culture of Turkey with the contributions and studies of the academicians in the fields of sociology, literature, history, and music; to convey the obtained data to researchers, institutions by e-mails, bulletin and Academic Journal to be published by the center; and to present the data to the public by conferences, panels and symposia.

The Study Fields of the Center;

a)   To bring out the written and oral literature of Alevism; to transfer and archive them on digital media; to translate  the Ottoman Turkish, Arabic and Persian works into Turkish and publish them; to carry out content analysis; publish the Turkish and English summaries on the Internet and do research in eligible cities.

b)   To build up a  documentation center, offer master and PhD. studies on the  documents collected in the Center's archive.

c)   To build up a library covering the works published on our field of study.

d)   To cooperate with the concerned institutions within the context of the goal of Center.

e)   To contact with the private and public institutions engaged in this field both inside and outside the country and  make scientific contribution to improve international relations.

f)      To collect Alevi folk songs, whirl and folk poems, take photos of the tombs and mouseloums; put the legends told in this region into writing; interview with the Alevi dede, pir, baba  (Alevi religious officials); publish the data and evidences.

g)   To contribute to the introduction of region culture throug organizations of such activities as conferences, panels, seminars, shows, certificate programs, concerts devoted to the students and community.

 

 We believe that Alevism Practice and Research Center which will carry out the services and tasks stated above; will response at least to the expectations of local people, cultural researchers and students in accordance with the modernization and innovation studies and thus the center will take part actively in domestic and international platforms.
